Amazónico, a restaurant known for its jungle-themed decor and international locations in Dubai, London, Madrid, and Monte Carlo, is set to open its first U.S. branch in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. The restaurant has leased approximately 40,000 square feet across three floors at the 800 Brickell office tower located at 800 Brickell Avenue. Babak Ebrahimzadeh of Gatsby Enterprises, which owns the building, confirmed the details.
The lease also includes space for Amazónico’s nightclub Selva on the top level of the leased area. Both venues are expected to open late next month. According to Ebrahimzadeh, “The restaurant can seat about 700 guests at a time and host at least 1,300 guests per night.”
Amazónico was founded in 2016 by Sandro Silva and Marta Seco in Madrid. The couple leads Paraguas Group, which operates under D.ream International based in London.
Gatsby Enterprises acquired the 800 Brickell building and an adjacent garage for $125.5 million in 2019.
In West Palm Beach, DUS Padel will launch its first location next year at 2031 Okeechobee Boulevard with a facility spanning 26,500 square feet that will include indoor courts as well as wellness amenities such as cold plunges and saunas alongside a café. Stream Realty Partners represented DUS Padel in the lease transaction while Southeast Retail Advisors represented the landlord.
DUS Padel was founded last year by Philippe Urreiztieta. The new club will occupy space formerly held by American Freight after its parent company filed for bankruptcy in November and began closing stores nationwide. The shopping center is owned by Okee Realty Associates.
In North Miami Beach, Pala Mediterranean Kitchen plans to open a new location within Aura North Miami Beach—a mixed-use project currently under construction—at 16955-17071 West Dixie Highway. The kosher Mediterranean restaurant will operate from a 1,400-square-foot unit featuring both indoor seating and an outdoor terrace as it expands from its original Hollywood location.
Other tenants preleasing space at Aura include The Missing Peace occupational therapy center and Sunrisas Dental Miami; specific square footage details were not disclosed. Florentin Bakery previously signed for 2,800 square feet while Mimi Yoga took up another 2,700 square feet offering infrared heater yoga and mat Pilates classes.
Aura North Miami Beach is being developed by Macken Companies of Hollywood and Trinsic Residential Group of Dallas as an eight-story property with 373 apartments and roughly 17,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space plus a covered retail terrace measuring about 9,000 square feet. Construction is scheduled for completion during the second quarter of next year according to project developers Alan Macken (Macken Companies) and Brian Tusa (Trinsic).
Wells Fargo has signed a decade-long lease for a new branch occupying 4,000 square feet at 1207 Southeast 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale—a move that will replace its current branch on South Andrews Avenue. Berger Commercial Realty/Corfac International represented the landlord while Colliers represented Wells Fargo during negotiations. The property was previously occupied by PDQ restaurant and features drive-thru access on a one-acre lot owned by W D Cordova led by John Thompson Loos III and Amy Mergler.
Homebuilder Minto Communities USA has relocated its headquarters within Coconut Creek but remains local after leasing a larger office totaling 15,500 square feet at Promenade at Coconut Creek (4443 Lyons Road). Approximately seventy-five employees are expected to work from this new site managed by Boston-based AEW Capital Management; Minto had been based nearby on West Sample Road for over two decades prior to this move.
