Ashok Kumar Coimbatore Jeyakumar, M.D., FACS, has joined Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute as director of aortic disease within Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care. Dr. Jeyakumar, known as Dr. CJ, is recognized for his expertise in complex thoracic aortic surgeries, off-pump total arterial and multi-arterial coronary revascularization, and minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery.
Before coming to Baptist Health, Dr. CJ held leadership roles at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he directed adult cardiac surgery and served as surgical director of advanced coronary revascularization and thoracic aortic surgery. He led programs focused on high-acuity and complex cardiac operations.

Dr. CJ completed advanced fellowships in robotic and minimally invasive cardiac surgery at the Cleveland Clinic as well as in adult cardiac surgery and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) at Emory University School of Medicine. He trained in cardiothoracic surgery at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in India.
