IAM Union members at Atlantic Aviation Teterboro have approved a new collective bargaining agreement that brings changes to wages, benefits, and workplace policies.
The contract was negotiated by IAM District 142 and will provide wage increases for all job classifications. In addition to the wage boost, union members will receive a $1,500 signing bonus and retroactive pay dating back to the expiration of the previous contract. The agreement also includes higher premiums, provisions for sick time buyback, and improvements in vacation accrual. Changes were made to surveillance language, progressive discipline procedures, and shift scheduling as well.
“This agreement reflects the power of union solidarity and the commitment of our members at Atlantic Aviation TEB,” said IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen. “This contract was won by the hard work, unity, and determination of our membership.”
Union representatives from IAM District 142 stated they plan to work with company leadership so that all aspects of the new contract are understood and implemented promptly.
“This contract delivers meaningful economic gains and important workplace protections,” said IAM District 142 President and Directing General Chair John M. Coveny, Jr. “It’s what our members fought for and what they have more than earned.”
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers has reiterated its ongoing commitment to protecting its members’ rights through collective bargaining agreements.
