Cardiologist Yelenis Seijo De Armas, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care at the Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. Dr. Seijo De Armas will be diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of cardiovascular diseases. Her clinical interests include improving cardiovascular health in women and expectant mothers.
Dr. Seijo De Armas received her medical degree from Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami. She completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston.
During her training, Dr. Seijo De Armas published research in scientific journals, presented at medical conferences, served on several committees, and taught medical students. She is also a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
“Dr. Seijo De Armas will bring a multidisciplinary approach to our cardiac care team, which is dedicated to the highest quality of care,” said Tom C. Nguyen, M.D., chief medical executive of Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care and director of minimally invasive surgery at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute.

Dr. Seijo De Armas emphasized her approach to patient care: “I recognize their values, respect their autonomy and encourage open and honest communication,” she said. “I offer my patients support to address the emotional challenges that might result from illness and educate them about their condition so they can take an active role in their health and the decision-making process.”
She speaks both English and Spanish and will see patients at two locations: 5000 University Dr., Ste. 3300 in Coral Gables, Florida; and 7400 SW 87 Ave., Suite 100 in Miami.
