Cartier opens boutique at Palm Beach’s Royal Poinciana Plaza; new tenants announced across South Florida

French luxury brand Cartier has opened a new boutique in Palm Beach. The company signed a lease at 70 Royal Poinciana Plaza, occupying part of the historic Royal Poinciana Playhouse, according to a Cartier news release.

Cartier, based in Paris and nearly two centuries old, is known for its jewelry, watches, leather goods, fragrances, and accessories. Cyrille Vigneron currently leads the company.

Royal Poinciana Plaza spans 192,000 square feet and was developed in the 1950s. The playhouse within the plaza was completed in 1958 and designed by architect John Volk in the Regency Revival style. Ownership of the plaza belongs to a trust led by Sidney Spiegel, while WS Development from Boston holds a leasehold interest.

The opening follows other recent leases at Royal Poinciana Plaza including Hill House Home (apparel and home goods), ScandyCandy (Swedish candy store), and La Coqueta (British childrenswear boutique). Details on the exact size of Cartier’s leased space were not disclosed.

In Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, SunLife Organics—a juice bar offering apparel and organic products—will open at Calle Collective inside Fisher Brothers’ Joule House apartment building at 2200 Northwest First Avenue. SunLife has leased 2,000 square feet with an expected opening in the third quarter. Khalil Rafati founded SunLife Organics.

Representatives from Masonre—David Abrams, Eliot Goldschmidt, and Jeff Jacobson—worked with both Fisher Brothers and SunLife during negotiations. Clark Briffel and Myles Grossman represented Fisher Brothers as well. New York-based Fisher Brothers completed Joule House this year; it features eight stories with 308 apartments. Calle Collective includes 19 large murals created by local Miami artists.

Elsewhere in Fort Lauderdale’s Cypress Creek submarket, Pinecrest Square shopping center has reached full occupancy following several new leases. Trustbridge Hospice Foundation will open a hospice furniture showroom after signing for 4,600 square feet at 903-999 East Cypress Creek Road. Bagels & Co., Bio Health IV Clinic (infusion therapy), Guys & Dolls Barbershop (with renegotiated terms), Tacos Los Guachi’s restaurant, Kavasutra Kava Bar, and Dr. Henry Merritt have also secured or renewed leases ranging from 1,200 to 2,100 square feet each.

Trustbridge Hospice Foundation along with Bagels & Co., Bio Health IV Clinic are set to open early next year according to Jaime Sturgis of Native Realty who represented the landlord in these transactions.

Pinecrest Square covers about 40,000 square feet on a two-acre lot and was built in 1980. Entity 903 Cypress Creek acquired the property for $10.3 million earlier this year.
