The U.S. Census Bureau will hold a prerelease webinar on September 4, 2025, to discuss the upcoming release of the 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year estimates. The ACS is an important source of data on topics such as language spoken at home, education, commuting patterns, employment, mortgage status and rent, income, poverty levels, and health insurance coverage. For many of these subjects, the ACS provides the only local-level estimates available.

The new one-year statistics are scheduled for public release on September 11, 2025. Embargo subscribers will be able to access the data earlier—from September 9 at 10 a.m. ET until September 11 at 12:01 a.m. ET—for all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, congressional districts, metropolitan statistical areas, and other geographic regions with populations of at least 65,000.

Wire services and distribution outlets are reminded that embargoed news stories and data files cannot be released before the official public release date and time. The Census Bureau’s embargo policy outlines these restrictions in detail.

To obtain embargo access or register for updates about this release visit www.census.gov/newsroom/releases/archives/embargoed_releases.

Caleb Hopler from the American Community Survey Office and Jewel Jordan from the Public Information Office will lead the webinar presentation. Attendees can participate in an audio conference paired with an online presentation; they do not need to dial in separately for audio. Credentialed media members and data users may submit questions during or after the session using either a Q&A feature or by audio.
