The U.S. Census Bureau has announced it will release three reports next month detailing national statistics on income, poverty, and health insurance coverage for 2024. The findings will be presented at an online news conference scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. EDT.

The reports—Income in the United States: 2024, Poverty in the United States: 2024, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2024—are based on data from the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). These documents provide annual estimates on income, earnings, inequality, official poverty rates, supplemental poverty measures, and health insurance coverage across the country.

David Waddington, chief of the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division at the Census Bureau; Sharon Stern, assistant division chief for Employment Characteristics; Liana Fox, assistant division chief for Economic Characteristics; and Julie Iriondo, chief of the Media Relations Branch at the Public Information Office Communications Directorate will participate in the presentation. Iriondo will serve as moderator.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. The Census Bureau plans to make all reports, data tables, and related materials available through its Income, Poverty and Health Insurance press kit online shortly after the event begins.

The news conference will take place virtually via Webex by Cisco. Media representatives can ask questions by phone using audio access number 888-566-5791 with passcode 1732236.
