Duke Energy Florida employees contributed over $1 million to local communities in 2025 through a combination of personal donations, volunteer work, and matching funds from the Duke Energy Foundation. From January to November, employees donated more than $293,000 and volunteered nearly 11,000 hours. The value of these volunteer hours was estimated at over $380,000. The Duke Energy Foundation matched employee contributions and volunteer time with more than $387,000.

Melissa Seixas, state president of Duke Energy Florida, stated: “Caring for our customers is intrinsic to the work Duke Energy employees do every day, so it’s no surprise that they would choose to continue giving back however they can. I’m proud to work alongside these incredibly generous men and women who are living out our company’s core principles, and in turn, creating real, tangible value for the people and communities we serve.”

In addition to supporting employee initiatives, the Duke Energy Foundation invested further across its 35-county service area. These investments included $300,000 for climate resiliency projects; $789,000 for colleges and universities; $163,000 in emergency preparedness grants; and $125,000 aimed at addressing food insecurity.

The company acknowledged rising costs affecting customers and emphasized efforts to manage its own expenses while providing resources to help customers save on their bills. More information about savings programs is available at duke-energy.com/SeasonalSavings.

Duke Energy Florida supplies electricity to two million customers across a 13,000-square-mile region in Florida with an energy capacity of 12,300 megawatts.
