Family medicine and geriatric medicine physician Eman Ahmad, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Primary Care. Dr. Ahmad will offer patient-centered care with a focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, geriatric medicine, and dementia.
Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. Ahmad served as chief of geriatric medicine at Alameda Health System in Oakland, California. There she oversaw both inpatient and outpatient geriatric care and supported the professional development of staff and trainees.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ahmad to our highly skilled team of medical professionals, dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients,” said Jack Ziffer, Ph.D., M.D., executive vice president, chief clinical officer and chief physician executive at Baptist Health.
Dr. Ahmad is board certified in family medicine and geriatric medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine. She is also a member of the American College of Physicians along with other professional groups.
Her education includes a medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, a family medicine residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California, and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Long Island, New York.
Dr. Ahmad noted that older adults with chronic conditions often face fragmented care that may not align with their goals or preferences. “I strive to provide coordinated care that respects and supports my patients’ needs and values, ultimately contributing to enhanced satisfaction and improved health outcomes and quality of life,” she said.
She speaks English and Arabic. Dr. Ahmad will see patients at two locations: Baptist Health Primary Care | Internal Medicine Center at 8940 North Kendall Drive in Miami, and Baptist Health Primary Care | Coral Gables (Belmont Village) at 4101 Salzedo Street in Coral Gables.
