Firas Bounni, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute as a vascular neurologist. He will provide neurological care with an emphasis on stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Bounni to our highly skilled team of medical specialists, dedicated to providing the highest quality care,” said Diego Torres-Russotto, M.D., chair of neurology at Miami Neuroscience Institute.

Dr. Bounni completed his medical degree at Damascus University before working as a post-doctoral fellow in neuroscience research at Massachusetts General Hospital for five years. His clinical training included an internship in neurology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, a preliminary residency in internal medicine at St. Mary Medical Center, a neurology residency at Tufts University Medical Center / Lahey Clinic, and a vascular neurology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.

He has more than ten years of teaching experience and has served as an instructor in both clinical and laboratory settings, supervising medical students and junior residents. Dr. Bounni is also well-published and has presented his work at national symposia.

Dr. Bounni speaks English, Arabic, and French fluently. He will see patients at Baptist Hospital located at 8950 N. Kendall Drive, Suite 405W in Miami.
