Florida Chamber Foundation identifies top 30 high-demand careers in each region

The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Work Florida initiative has released a list of the top 30 high-demand careers in each region of the state. The list is based on projections from FloridaCommerce and highlights jobs that are expected to see strong growth and replacement needs, while also offering wages at or above the state’s median of $22.53 per hour or $46,860 annually.

The careers identified span several industries, including healthcare, information technology, education, business and professional services, architecture and construction, transportation and logistics, and hospitality. The report also provides projected income figures and outlines the education and training pathways for each career. Of the top jobs listed, 15 require a bachelor’s degree and 13 require postsecondary training or certification.

Rachel Ludwig, Vice President of Talent Development for the Future of Work at the Florida Chamber Foundation, added, “This list is more than a snapshot of important careers to keep on our radar. It is a call to action for communities across Florida to invest in education and workforce development now so that every Floridian has access to meaningful career opportunities that strengthen our state’s competitiveness.”

The list is presented at both state and regional levels as part of the Future of Work Florida initiative. This initiative aims to align education with industry needs and prepare Floridians for current and future job opportunities by increasing awareness and collaboration among students, parents, educators, and businesses.

The Future of Work Florida initiative seeks to create one of the nation’s top workforces by 2030 by connecting business leaders with workforce and education partners. Its goal is to ensure that education, training, and career pathways match industry demands so that Florida’s workforce remains competitive and adaptable.

The Florida Chamber Foundation operates as a statewide business-led research organization focused on long-term strategies for economic growth and job creation in Florida. Its efforts are guided by the Florida 2030 Blueprint and focus on improving the state’s talent pipeline, diversifying the economy through technology and innovation, enhancing infrastructure, fostering a business-friendly climate, streamlining government efficiency, and supporting quality of life.
