Business and policy leaders are set to gather at the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 2025 Florida Transportation, Growth & Infrastructure Solution Summit. The event aims to bring together asset owners, developers, engineers, logistics firms, economic developers, and policymakers to discuss infrastructure challenges and solutions aligned with the Florida 2030 Blueprint.
The summit will address key issues such as international trade, seaport growth strategy, energy needs, broadband expansion, affordable workforce housing, transportation requirements, and the infrastructure demands of the aerospace industry. Attendees will have opportunities for open dialogue and partnership building.
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Secretary Jared Perdue is scheduled to deliver a keynote presentation offering early insights into FDOT’s Florida Transportation Plan 2055. Other speakers include Beth Cooley from Amazon; Rob Long of Space Florida; Bryan Griffin from VISIT FLORIDA; Ashley Dietz of the Florida Philanthropic Network; Matt Swanson from SelectFlorida and FloridaCommerce; Captain John W. Murray of Port Canaveral; Kevin Carr from FloridaMakes; Jessica Ottaviano of FDOT; among others.
During the summit, the Florida Chamber Foundation will release a new study analyzing how an undercount in the 2020 Census—estimated at about 750,000 missed residents—affected federal funding allocations across counties in Florida. According to research by the Foundation, this undercount led to an estimated $11 billion loss in federal tax dollars that would have supported community reinvestments and infrastructure projects statewide.
Dr. Keith Richard, Vice President of Research for the Florida Chamber Foundation said: “Florida is projected to add more than 2.5 million residents by 2030, welcome 40 million annual visitors, and see roughly 2.1 million new drivers on its roadways. These insights highlight the importance of an accurate 2030 Census count to make certain Florida’s communities receive their fair share of federal funding and have community investments that keep pace with our state’s growth. We’ll be unveiling a research study at the Summit showing how much federal funding each Florida county missed out on due to the 2020 Census undercount.”
Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Foundation stated: “As Florida continues to grow, our infrastructure must not only keep pace but lead the way. At the Florida Chamber Foundation, we are uniting business, policy, and community leaders to position Florida competitively on a global scale while building the foundation for long-term prosperity.”
