The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) will convene a Special Commission Conference on November 20, 2025, to review a proposed Settlement Agreement from Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). The agreement is related to FPL’s ongoing rate case petition, which was filed earlier this year on February 28.

The settlement was submitted to the FPSC on August 20 and involved collaboration with various customer groups, businesses, and advocacy organizations. The signatories to the agreement include the Florida Industrial Power Users Group, Florida Retail Federation, Florida Energy for Innovation Association, Walmart Inc., EVgo Services, Americans for Affordable Clean Energy, Circle K Stores, RaceTrac, Wawa, Electrify America, Federal Executive Agencies, Armstrong World Industries, and the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.

A two-week evidentiary hearing began on October 6. During this period all parties were able to present testimony and cross-examine witnesses regarding both the settlement agreement and FPL’s initial rate request.

The Special Commission Conference will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee.
