The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) will begin a technical hearing on Monday, October 6, 2025, to review Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) request for a base rate increase. The hearing is set to take place at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee and will provide an opportunity for FPL and other parties involved to present sworn testimony and supporting documents.

FPL submitted its petition for a rate increase to the FPSC on February 28, 2025. In preparation for this hearing, the Commission organized ten service hearings during May and June of this year—three were held virtually and seven took place in person—to collect feedback from customers regarding FPL’s quality of service and its proposed rate changes. FPL supplies electricity to six million customer accounts across Northwest and peninsular Florida.

A live broadcast of the proceedings will be available online through the Commission’s event portal. Additional coverage may be provided by The Florida Channel depending on local programming schedules.
