Florida’s high school graduation rate has reached a new record, with 92.2% of students graduating in the 2024-25 school year. This figure was announced by Governor Ron DeSantis during the State of the State address and represents an increase of 2.5 percentage points from the previous year. Since the 2021-22 academic year, the graduation rate has risen by 4.9 percentage points.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas commented on this achievement, stating: “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
The state attributes these results to its focus on high standards, accountability measures, parental rights, and expanded educational options for families under Governor DeSantis’ administration. Officials say that these policies have contributed to providing students with better preparation for postsecondary education and future careers.
