On Tuesday evening, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) recognized its 2025 Hospitality Stars of the Industry Hall of Fame winners at a gala held at Henderson Beach Resort in Destin. The event also included the swearing-in of the 2026 FRLA Board Executive Committee and Greg Cook, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, as the 2026 Chairman of the Board.

With more than 140 years of combined service, their legacy of excellence continues to inspire and set the standard for future generations of hospitality professionals. Congratulations to our outstanding Hall of Fame winners!”
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dick Rivera, founder of Suncoast Hospitality Partners in Sarasota. Rivera has over five decades in the restaurant industry, leading ventures such as Vin Cella, TGI Friday’s, Marlow’s Tavern, Brick’s Smoked Meats, and Clasico Italian Chophouse. He has held executive roles with brands including Darden Restaurants, Longhorn Steakhouse, TGI Friday’s, Applebee’s, and El Chico Corp. Rivera’s work has been recognized by awards from Nation’s Restaurant News, International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, and Florida International University. He serves on several boards, including Golden Corral Corporation and Ringling College of Art and Design, and is a former chairman of both the National Restaurant Association and Florida Citrus Sports Association.
The Supplier of the Year award went to Jordan Beckner, President of Sales for FiberBuilt Umbrellas in Pompano Beach. Beckner co-founded FiberBuilt Umbrellas in 2000 and has served on various industry boards, including those affiliated with FRLA and the American Hotel & Lodging Association. He is involved with educational programs for hospitality students in Florida.
Mike Quillen, President of Watershed Hospitality Concepts, Gecko’s Hospitality Group, and Micas Mountain Kitchen, received the Restaurateur of the Year honor. Quillen oversees 15 restaurants across Florida and North Carolina, employing over 800 people. He is known for his focus on employee development, community involvement, and consistent operational standards. Quillen serves on several local boards and has received multiple awards for community service and business leadership.
Heiko Dobrikow, Executive Vice President of The Las Olas Company and General Manager of Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, was named Hotelier of the Year. Dobrikow brings more than 30 years of experience in hospitality management and is active in local civic organizations. He has received recognition for leadership from groups such as Florida Trend and Florida Atlantic University.
The FRLA represents more than 10,000 members from across Florida’s hospitality sector. Established in 1946, it merged with the Florida Hotel and Motel Association in 2006. The association advocates for legislative interests, provides compliance training, and supports career-building programs through its educational foundation.
