Highlands County has introduced three new interactive digital kiosks in Sebring, Avon Park, and Lake Placid. The installations are located at Circle Park in Sebring, in front of the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce at 28 Main Street, and at Journal Plaza in Lake Placid at 231 North Main Avenue. These kiosks are designed to serve as digital connectors for visitors, highlighting attractions within each city while encouraging exploration across all three municipalities.

According to Highlands County Tourism Director Casey Hartt, “By the TDC and the three cities working together and showcasing Highlands County as one cohesive destination, we’re making it easier for visitors to discover our area events, activities, restaurants, hotels, and attractions. These kiosks help strengthen tourism throughout all three cities by encouraging visitors to see and do more during their stay, which ultimately boosts economic activity countywide.”

The unveiling of these kiosks follows their introduction earlier this year at the TDC’s Destination Unity Breakfast. The initiative is part of a broader strategy by Visit Sebring and local governments to present a unified tourism experience for Highlands County. Over the past year, efforts have focused on creating a platform that highlights unique features of each community while promoting connectivity among them.

Each kiosk provides touchscreen access for users to find information about dining options, accommodations, outdoor activities, cultural sites, and upcoming events throughout the county. Although each unit spotlights its host city’s offerings specifically, they are built to encourage broader exploration.

Hartt stated: “Local businesses and organizations are featured in categories such as Food & Drink, Things to Do, Outdoors, and Accommodations so visitors can easily discover them. Users can also filter by preferences, such as cuisine, lodging style or city giving them a seamless way to explore and enjoy all three communities during their vacation to Highlands County.”

The kiosks were manufactured by TrueOmni and include features like an itinerary builder that lets visitors create personalized plans sent directly to their phones; an interactive event calendar displaying festivals and concerts across all cities; interactive maps with directions; and a digital photo booth for guests to share branded Visit Sebring images.

This project aligns with Visit Sebring’s goal of using technology and collaboration to enhance the tourism economy in Highlands County through innovative destination development.

Tourism businesses or event organizers who want their listings included on the kiosks are encouraged to review details at VisitSebring.com or contact info@visitsebring.com.

Visit Sebring operates under the management of the Highlands County Tourist Development Council (TDC), whose mission focuses on promoting tourism growth alongside responsible resource management.
