Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Executive Council, along with delegates, met in Savannah, Georgia, to address political issues, the recent government shutdown, and strategies for increasing union voter turnout before the 2026 midterm elections. The meeting focused on ways to strengthen political influence for union members in Georgia.

Later in the week, IAM International President Bryant delivered a keynote address at the Georgia State AFL-CIO convention. During his speech, Bryant emphasized the importance of union involvement in political processes and encouraged members to remain engaged as elections approach.

The gathering is part of broader efforts by labor organizations to boost political participation among their members and ensure their interests are represented in upcoming elections.
