The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced that the 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition will open for applications on October 1, 2025. The competition will accept entries until Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications are to be submitted online.

Eligibility for the scholarship includes IAM members with at least two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada. Detailed information about the application process, rules, and eligibility can be found on the IAM Scholarship Competition page.

According to the IAM, “Out of the 300+ applicants in 2025, the IAM awarded 16 scholarships valued at $4,000 per student to members and their children.” The organization also offers a vocational-technical two-year scholarship as part of its awards.

The IAM Scholarship Fund was created by delegates at the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention. It is used solely to provide these educational awards.
