Investor Edmond Harbour has acquired a waterfront property at 1821 West 27th Street in Miami Beach for $34 million, adding to his holdings on the Sunset Islands. The purchase was made through his Florida-based entity, Abode18 LLC, from sellers Dr. Mark Jaffe and Patricia Jaffe. John Sandberg of Compass listed the property, while Julian Johnston of the Corcoran Group represented Harbour in the transaction. Johnston did not comment on Harbour’s future plans for the site.
Harbour previously bought the neighboring home at 1835 West 27th Street for $26.5 million last year, also with Johnston as his agent. Property records link Harbour to several entities, including Adobe18 LLC, Adobe21 LLC, and Metier Capital. In 2022, through Adobe21, he purchased another waterfront home at 2121 Lake Avenue for $14.1 million.
The recently acquired house was built in 1940 and spans 6,900 square feet with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms on a 0.6-acre lot featuring 150 feet of waterfront. The Jaffes originally bought it for $1.2 million in 1989. The property was marketed as a teardown and listed for $37.5 million in September before quickly going under contract.
The practice of buying adjacent properties has become more common among wealthy buyers in South Florida, who seek larger estates with amenities similar to those found in condominiums. In a recent example, billionaire Patrick Dovigi spent $15 million on a neighboring property to expand his estate after purchasing a Sunset Islands mansion for $27.5 million.
Other notable transactions in the area include Alden Global Capital’s sale of a waterfront home for $25.4 million earlier this month, following its purchase of the property for $9.5 million in 2021. In June, Oren Alexander sold his Sunset Islands mansion for $51.5 million while facing federal charges.
