Joshua M. Heiman joins Baptist Health Urology specializing in minimally invasive procedures

Joshua M. Heiman, M.D., a fellowship-trained urologist, has joined Baptist Health Urology in Boca Raton. Dr. Heiman specializes in endourology and minimally invasive urologic surgery, focusing on diagnosing and treating kidney stones, benign prostatic enlargement, prostate cancer, renal masses, and other conditions of the urinary and reproductive systems.

Dr. Heiman is trained in holmium laser enucleation of the prostate, a minimally invasive procedure for patients with large prostates. He also performs percutaneous nephrolithotomy to treat large or complex kidney stones and has completed extensive fellowship training in robotic-assisted urologic surgery for conditions involving the kidneys, prostate, and bladder.

Dr. Heiman earned a master’s degree in biotechnology from Rush University in Chicago and a medical degree from Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton. His post-graduate training includes a five-year residency at Indiana University School of Medicine where he coordinated robotics education for the Department of Urology. He also completed a fellowship in endourology and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

He has published research findings in medical journals and presented at national and international scientific meetings. Dr. Heiman is a member of both the American Urologic Association and the Endourological Society.

Dr. Heiman emphasizes open communication with patients: “This patient-centered care approach allows for a more comprehensive, thoughtful and effective treatment experience,” he said.

He will see patients at Baptist Health Urology | Boca Raton located at 745 Meadows Road, Suite 201.
