Family medicine physician Lavida J. Thomas-Richardson, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Primary Care in Marathon, Florida. Dr. Thomas-Richardson brings over 20 years of experience in patient care and focuses on preventive medicine. She aims to help patients achieve their health goals, including physical, mental, and psychological well-being.
Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. Thomas-Richardson worked with Weatherby, a locum tenens company, where she accepted family medicine assignments in New Port Richey, Deltona, and Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Thomas-Richardson earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed her family medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville. During her residency she gained experience in pediatric and adult primary care with a focus on women’s healthcare. Her clinical background also includes pain management, occupational health and urgent care.
She is recognized for her compassionate approach and communication skills with patients. “Blending science and humanity to elevate the care of my patients, I guide them in identifying their goals, creating health plans and making sustainable lifestyle changes,” said Dr. Thomas-Richardson.
Dr. Thomas-Richardson will see patients at Baptist Health Primary Care | Marathon at 3303 Overseas Highway in Marathon.
