Grammy-winning artist Marc Anthony has sold his condo at One Thousand Museum in downtown Miami for $8.6 million, according to property records and the listing. Anthony, whose full name is Marco Antonio Muñiz, purchased the 8,400-square-foot townhouse unit in 2021 for $11 million, paying just over $1,300 per square foot.
The recent sale price equates to about $1,024 per square foot, representing a 22 percent decrease from what Anthony paid four years ago. The transaction closed on Friday.
A trust managed by Anthony’s manager Charles Koppelman handled the sale of the five-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom residence. The unit was first listed last year at $11.4 million and was most recently priced at $9.9 million before selling below both figures.
Anamaria Velasquez of Nexxos Realty represented the seller in the deal. Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman acted on behalf of the buyer, identified in property records as Shadi LLC, a Delaware-based company.
Anthony previously sold another South Florida property: a 21,000-square-foot waterfront mansion with 12 bedrooms located at 300 Costanera Road in Coral Gables’ Cocoplum neighborhood. That home sold for $22.4 million in 2020.
Marc Anthony is recognized as one of the leading salsa artists globally and has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide. He has received four Grammy Awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards.
One Thousand Museum has drawn several notable buyers since its completion in 2019. Among them are soccer star David Beckham and designer Victoria Beckham, who also own a waterfront mansion on North Bay Road.
The building was designed by architect Zaha Hadid and features an exoskeleton that wraps around its balconies. The development team included Louis Birdman, Gilberto Bomeny, Kevin Venger, Gregg Covin and Todd Michael Glaser.
Earlier this year billionaire hedge fund manager Ken Griffin put his penthouse in One Thousand Museum up for sale with an asking price now set at $23.8 million after previously listing it for $23 million; he bought it for $18 million in 2021.
