Marcos A. Nores, M.D., a board-certified cardiac surgeon, has been appointed as the medical director of the Christine E. Lynn Heart & Vascular Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, which is part of Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care. Dr. Nores is recognized for his expertise in mitral valve repair, aortic root and thoracic aorta surgery, coronary reoperations, and transcatheter treatment of structural heart disease.

With more than 25 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery and clinical leadership, Dr. Nores previously served as medical director of cardiovascular services at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. He also led the cardiothoracic surgery program at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Dr. Nores received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina and completed his internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston. He then pursued a general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., followed by service as clinical associate at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

He holds board certifications from both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and has contributed over 20 peer-reviewed studies on topics such as innovations in valve repair and transcatheter procedures.
