The Sunny, a renovated oceanfront hotel in Miami’s Sunny Isles Beach, is set to open in October. The property, previously known as the Newport Beachside Resort, has undergone a comprehensive transformation under the ownership of its founding family. The renovation includes 340 updated guest rooms and six new dining and cocktail venues.

The Sunny’s approach centers on cultural exploration and unique guest experiences. Features include an art program in the lobby, a mezcal tasting lounge beneath the stairs, fire pits with live music by the beach, and several culinary options. Among them is ¡VIVA!, led by Chef Ray Garcia, which will serve modern Mexican-American cuisine overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Located near the historic Newport Pier—one of Miami’s few remaining public fishing piers—the hotel aims to offer a distinct take on hospitality for visitors to Sunny Isles Beach.

“The Sunny leans into the art of discovery: a curated in-lobby art program, a mezcal tasting lounge tucked under the stairs, fire pits and live music by the beach, and the East Coast debut of acclaimed Chef Ray Garcia’s ¡VIVA!, serving modern Mexican-American cuisine with sweeping views of the Atlantic,” according to information from The Sunny. “Set just steps from one of Miami’s last remaining public fishing piers—the iconic Newport Pier—The Sunny offers a refreshingly personal take on the resort experience, where every detail is designed to surprise and delight. It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a place to stumble onto something special.”
