The 13th annual North Miami BrewFest will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 4-8 p.m. at The NoMi Village in North Miami. The event is organized by Florida International University’s (FIU) Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.

North Miami BrewFest was originally created by students in a brewing science class and has expanded significantly over the years. Last year, more than 35 breweries and 20 restaurants participated, offering over 100 types of beer. More than half of these businesses are owned or operated by FIU alumni.

“We are excited to continue to share the love of craft brews and beer education with others in the community,” said Mohammad Quereshi, North Miami BrewFest festival director. “The public’s support is imperative since we are the only festival whose proceeds directly go back towards brewing science education,” he added.

General admission tickets for the festival cost $85 and include unlimited sampling of beers as well as food prepared by local chefs. Early-access tickets are available for $105, while early-access-and-VIP-lounge tickets are priced at $125. Proceeds benefit FIU’s Bachelor of Science in Beverage Management program.

Several local breweries have already confirmed their participation, including Rocketeer Beer & Liquid Provisions—last year’s People’s Choice Best Brewery—as well as Beat Culture, Bread and Beer Buds, Cove Brewery, Funky Buddha, Johnny Cuba, Killer Coffee, Lemon Dade, Lost City, Miami Area Society of Homebrewers, MIA Beer Company, Owls Brew, Pompano Beach Brewing Company, Sour Sea Cow, Sun Cruiser, Thirsty Dragon, Tripping Animals and Uncommon Path Brewing, Unseen Creatures and Yeasty Brews.

Participating eateries this year include Temple Street Eatery; Wan’s; If And When Eats; Old Joe’s Caribbean Grill; Popo’s Seafood; Taste Good Miami; Crabs R Us Seafood; El Desembarco—one of last year’s best bite winners—French Bistro; La Birra Bar; Mr. No Sauce BBQ; Night Owl Cookies; Sweetgreen; R&R BBQue; Twin Dragon Hibachi; Soufull Biscuit and Versailles.

Tickets can be purchased through www.northmiamibrewfest.com or Eventbrite.
