Several new developments have been announced in Ocala/Marion County, Florida, aiming to enhance recreational and hospitality options for both residents and visitors.
Pickleball Kingdom is scheduled to open this summer in northwest Ocala. The 37,000-square-foot facility will offer 13 indoor courts designed to professional standards. The venue plans to provide coaching and clinics suitable for all skill levels, as well as youth programs, leagues, tournaments, and space for community or corporate events.
Another addition is Heart of the Park, which opened on July 4 in Tuscawilla Park. This center has repurposed the former American Legion building into a community hub that hosts weekly museum exhibits, a corner store, and multipurpose spaces available for meetings and events. Organizers describe it as “a true showcase of downtown Ocala’s development into a bustling district.”
The area also saw the opening of Everhome Suites Ocala I-75 North at 1610 NW 35th Ave Rd. The extended-stay hotel provides apartment-style accommodations with full kitchens and living areas. It welcomes guests traveling with pets and offers both studio and one-bedroom suites intended for longer stays.
“Internationally renowned among equestrians, cyclists, geologists, and even the world of classic cinematography, Ocala/Marion County still feels like a hidden gem to those who aren’t already insiders. And yet, when you’re here, you’re never an outsider. The relaxed, genuine friendliness of the county’s communities makes you feel welcome wherever you go. From its otherworldly natural springs to the compounds of World Equestrian Center and Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training to its vibrant restaurants, quaint shops, dynamic arts and culture, and historic sites, the destination takes you by surprise in the best of ways,” according to information provided by local tourism officials.
