The U.S. Census Bureau has released updated international population estimates and projections, extending to the year 2100, for 21 countries and areas as part of its International Database (IDB). The countries included in this update are Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, El Salvador, Eswatini, Guatemala, Iran, Jamaica, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, Togo, Tunisia, the United States, and Zambia.

This latest release also features demographic data for 13,671 subnational regions around the world that are comparable to states or counties in the United States. Enhanced mapping tools accompany these updates.

The revised figures are based on newly available information from censuses, surveys and administrative records. The IDB compiles estimates and projections for more than 220 countries and areas worldwide. These include indicators such as population size by sex and single year of age up to 100-plus years old. The database also covers mortality rates, fertility rates and net international migration.

The Census Bureau regularly updates the IDB when new data become available. More information about these estimates and projections is accessible on the International Database Overview webpage.
