Visit Sarasota County (VSC) has launched a new winter marketing campaign aimed at attracting visitors to the region during the peak tourism season. The initiative, called “Share the Sunshine,” highlights local beaches, outdoor dining options, and abundant sunlight through digital advertising and storytelling that will continue until mid-January.
The campaign directs potential travelers to a dedicated landing page that features blogs and information about local attractions, sightseeing opportunities, and events with a coastal holiday theme. The site also promotes VSC’s Seasons of Sunshine mobile pass, a free platform offering monthly curated recommendations for areas such as Venice, Sarasota, and Longboat Key.
“It’s our role to create campaigns that don’t just follow a calendar but are created with input from our local businesses and residents, and this seasonal marketing program plays strongly into this approach,” said Erin Duggan, President and CEO at Visit Sarasota County. “Our invite to potential visitors is simple: you don’t have to suffer the cold, because a trip to our region is all it takes to take in the sunshine – and we’ve got an abundance to share.”
The winter campaign targets both colder northern cities including Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Washington D.C., as well as warm-weather drive markets such as Fort Myers, Naples, Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach. The aim is to attract day-trippers and weekend visitors looking for winter getaways in Sarasota. This marks the start of VSC’s annual marketing theme titled “Your Season, Year Round,” which emphasizes Sarasota as an appealing destination throughout the year.
